You choose two of four modes that scale with X, including life loss to a player, returning a creature from your graveyard with mana value X or less, giving a creature -X/-X, or granting up to X creatures fear until end of turn. The card is flexible in midrange and reanimation-oriented decks because it combines removal, recursion, and incremental damage in one modal spell.
