Tariff (6ED-47) is a white sorcery from Classic Sixth Edition that forces each player to either pay the mana cost of their highest mana value creature or sacrifice that creature. On resolution, each player identifies the tied-or-highest creature they control and may pay that creature’s actual mana cost to keep it, or else sacrifice it. The effect can be used defensively to protect a key creature or offensively to pressure opponents’ large creatures by taxing them for their retention.
