As cast, you may promise an opponent a Gift to let them draw a card before you exile a nonland card from their revealed hand and potentially allow you to cast that exiled card while it's exiled. The card enables disruptive hand interaction and can grant you access to an opponent's resource for later casting, changing both tempo and card advantage considerations.
