It enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter, can be saddled by tapping creatures to gain a temporary saddled state that triggers further growth when it attacks, and has an activated ability that removes two +1/+1 counters to destroy an artifact. Its saddle mechanic enables both a growth-and-utility role in creature-based decks and a repeatable artifact removal option if you can supply counters and creatures to pay the saddle cost.
