Description

The Blackstaff of Waterdeep (PAFR 48, promo) is a Legendary Artifact from the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Promos set. You may choose not to untap it during your untap step, and its Animate Walking Statue ability lets you pay {1}{U} and tap it to make another nontoken artifact you control into a 4/4 artifact creature while The Blackstaff remains tapped. Its mechanics support artifact-based creature conversion and can enable surprise blockers or attackers and synergy with permanents that care about tapped artifacts.
