Red Ward (30A-33) is an Enchantment — Aura from the 30th Anniversary Edition that enchants a creature. The enchanted creature gains protection from red, preventing damage, targeting, blocking, and attaching of red sources while the Aura remains attached. This Aura's effect specifically does not cause the Aura to be removed if it would otherwise be invalidated by protection.
