Overview

Legality, special rules, and flavor text

Rules

The Shire enters tapped unless you control a legendary creature. {T}: Add {G}. {1}{G}, {T}, Tap an untapped creature you control: Create a Food token.

Rulings

The legendary creature must already be on the battlefield as the land enters the battlefield. If it enters the battlefield at the same time, the land will enter tapped. — Food is an artifact type. Even though it appears on some creatures, it's never a creature type. — Whatever you do, don't eat the delicious cards. — You can't sacrifice a Food to pay multiple costs. For example, you can't sacrifice a Food token to activate its own ability and also to activate Maraleaf Rider's ability.

Flavor text

"You must start somewhere and have some roots, and the soil of the Shire is deep." —Merry
