As long as Magmatic Hellkite’s last ability resolves, the target land’s controller gets to search for a basic land card even if the target land wasn’t destroyed by the ability. This may happen because the land has indestructible. — If the target land is an illegal target as Magmatic Hellkite’s last ability tries to resolve, it won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. No player will search their library for a basic land card.
